A New Children's Ministry Club Starting January 7, 2009
on Wednesday Nights from 6:15-7:45pm!

Awana is a very well organized program that we will be offering our children on Wednesday nights. Awana headquarters is located in Streamwood, IL and is an international organization with clubs throughout the world and Regional Awana Missionaries that are responsible for clubs in their district or region.

The main focus and goal of Awana is Bible scripture memorization through fun and exciting methods. A night of Awana will include age appropriate opening ceremony, large group time, book work time and game time. The opening ceremony will last about ten minutes and will include pledges and prayer. Our children will spend time in a large group setting based on there age group to have story time, praise music and or recognition for work achieved. They will then have time to work in their handbooks learning Bible verses and how to apply them in their life. Game time will be rotated through out the night based on age groups. Awana games are provided through the Game Director and will usually include the activities on a Awana game circle. We expect the program will last one and a half hours.

The Awana program requires a substantial amount of children’s workers to be successful. We are holding a basic training course in December to help train anyone interested in helping. Please contact Wendy Brogden at wbrogdon@crosswaterchurch.net or Terri Lore at 482-6619 with any question.
